Haruka Kondo is a photographer from Hyogo, Japan, currently based in Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia.

He began photography at the age of 11, when he received a camera from a relative. Having been interested in wildlife photography since childhood, he started photographing wild birds during his school years.

After experiencing the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, he developed a deeper interest in photojournalism and documentary photography. In 2022, he traveled to the United States and accompanied a photojournalist on assignment. Through this experience, he encountered the social value of photography and the commitment required to work in the field as a photographer, which led him to pursue photography seriously.

He received the Special Selection Award at the 38th Takusei Art Association International Open Call and the International Advisor Award at the 55th Shin-in Exhibition. In 2023, he was featured in the Professional Art Photographer section of the Contemporary Popular Artists Yearbook.

Since 2024, he has been based in Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia, where he explores, from a Japanese perspective, how religion influences culture.
